Once upon a time, I was

I am melting
Dissolving
Into tiny piles of flesh and bone
Fingernails and teeth.
Like the acid in my sweat
I liquefied
my putrefied self
Bruising what’s little left

I am the incredible shrinking me.

Glorification of knobby ends
Hungry
Yet self-satisfied
Mirror Mirror on the wall
Lie to me
And tell me that
You think I’m pretty

I am the incredible shrinking me.

I am dying inside
Loosing sleep but gaining
Six feet under ground
Too weak against the need
I bleed
to feel alive
This time
to feel anything at all

I am the incredible shrinking me.
